Professional Development and CEUs

Professional Development for Recertification

Workplace professionals are offered courses of an occupational nature that qualify professionals for continuing education units (CEU). The CEU is a nationally accepted system for documenting instruction in response to policies adopted by many professions requiring regular annual training. The CEU gives the individual a permanent, quantified record of courses taken to upgrade occupational knowledge and skills.

EGCC's Department of Workforce and Community Outreach offers or develops CEU and other programs in virtually any subject for which sufficient demand is shown by the professional community.

Programs set for local professionals are approved through these agencies:

  • Ohio Department of Insurance
  • Ohio Department of Education
  • American Association of Medical Assistants
  • Ohio State Board of Cosmetology
  • American Society of Radiologic Technologists
  • Dental Assisting National Board
  • Fellowship Academy of General Dentistry
  • National Certification Council for Activities Professionals

Professional development courses can be offered year-round on week days, evenings, and weekends. A particular offering may be a one-night seminar or a multiple-week session. If many employees at a facility require recertification training or CEUs, another option is to have these courses/seminars set for on-site delivery. We will work with you to design courses to fit recertification needs. A portable computer lab is available for on-site training.

Whatever your or your company's needs are, the Department of Workforce and Community Outreach stands ready to help you identify those needs and to prepare courses to address the designated area. Call toll free 1-800-68-COLLEGE, ext. 310.
